Justice Dhananjaya Yashwant Chandrachud, who was sworn in as the 50th Chief Justice of India (CJI) on Wednesday said his first priority would be to serve the common man and bring in reforms in the Supreme Court registry. President Droupadi Murmu today administered the oath of office to Justice DY Chandrachud at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Justice Chandrachud said he will ensure more and more use of technology in dispensing justice. He will serve as the CJI till November 10, 2024. Chandrachud succeeded Justice UU Lalit, who held the top post for 74 days. Notably, Justice Chandrachud is the son of late Justice YV Chandrachud, who was the longest-serving Chief Justice Of India.
