Chandigarh: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its anti-corruption campaign has arrested Sanjeev Singh, resident of village Bareke, posted as field worker, civil hospital Mamdot, Ferozepur district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
Disclosing this here on Friday, a spokesperson of the VB said the above-mentioned official has been arrested on the complaint of Jagdish Singh, resident of village Mallwal Kadeem, Ferozepur district who has lodged a complaint on the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line in this regard.
The spokesperson informed that during investigation of this plaint by the VB range Ferozepur, it was established that the accused had received Rs 50,000 as a bribe from the complainant. The above said official was arrested after finding him guilty for taking gratification in the said case.
In this regard a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused official at VB police station Ferozepur range. Further investigation in this case was under progress, he added.
