NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) in close coordination with the state police forces on Monday conducted raids at 19 locations across four states to bust a highly radicalized terror group. The operations were carried out in Karnataka, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Delhi.
The 19 locations currently under investigation by the NIA are associated with individuals suspected to be affiliated with a jihadi group, as per sources.
According to reports, this terrorist organization is actively involved in anti-India activities and has demonstrated the capability to strategize attacks while also recruiting young individuals, as per reliable sources.
The anti-terror agency last week carried out multiple raids in Maharashtra and Karnataka which led to the arrest of 15 operatives.
The NIA spokesperson, in a statement, said huge amount of unaccounted cash, firearms, sharp weapons, incriminating documents, smartphones and other digital devices were seized during the raids conducted as a part of the central agency’s ongoing efforts to disrupt and demolish the attempts of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to carry out violent acts of terror.
