In April 2023, China’s industrial power generation rose 6.1 per cent YoY for enterprises with an annual turnover of at least 20 million yuan.

Solar and hydropower decreased by 3.3 per cent and 25.9 per cent.
However, not all sources of power saw an increase. Solar power generation decreased by 3.3 per cent, and hydropower output experienced a substantial drop of 25.9 per cent YoY.
The first four months of the year witnessed a total power generation increase of 3.4 per cent YoY, reaching 2.73 trillion kilowatt-hours, further demonstrating China’s growing industrial power capacity.
