The Maharashtra government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bajaj Finserv under which the non-banking finance company will invest Rs 5,000 crore in Pune. This investement is expected to create 40,000 jobs
The MoU with Bajaj Finserv was announced by the Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
After signing the MoU, Fadnavis said Pune was now emerging as a hub for financial services. He noted that the latest development involving Bajaj Finserve would provide a big boost to the financial services sector in the country.
“I think the investment from Bajaj Finserv is the largest investment in recent times taking place in the fintech sector,” Fadnavis said.
Headquartered in Pune, Bajaj Finserv Limited is an Indian non-banking financial services company focused on lending, asset management, wealth management and insurance.
