Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, is currently on a visit to India from May 31 to June 3. This visit marks his fourth visit to India and the first since assuming office in December. The visit is at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and aims to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries. During the visit, discussions will be held on various fields, including trade, transit, and hydroelectricity projects. The engagement between the two Prime Ministers will provide an opportunity to discuss the multifaceted relationship between India and Nepal. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has already met with Prime Minister Prachanda in the national capital. The visit builds on the successes achieved in the bilateral partnership between India and Nepal during previous high-level visits, such as Prime Minister Deuba’s visit to New Delhi in April 2022 and Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Lumbini in May 2022. The Prime Minister of Nepal received a warm welcome from Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi upon his arrival in India. In addition to official engagements, Prime Minister Prachanda will also visit Ujjain and Indore as part of his visit to India. The visit is expected to impart renewed momentum to the close and unique relationship between India and Nepal.
