Google Flights Shows Southwest Prices
Third-party search sites like Google Flights make it easy to compare airfare prices as they give the best deals from most airlines. Even if you prefer to buy directly from the airline, it allows you to quickly compare number of stops, departure times, and other important factors.
But when looking o do these comparisons, Google Flights would not include prices from Southwest Airlines. It would only show departure and arrival times, flight duration and carbon dioxide emissions. It would then direct you to Southwest’s website for pricing.
But that has changed today as Google Flights gives you all the relevant information for Southwest Airlines flights. You can filter search results by airline, if you want to specifically look for Southwest flights. You can also set alerts for price drops, and easily rebook a Southwest flight if it gets cheaper.
In 2020, Google Flights made it free for all partners to participate in its travel search website. That means that it does not charge airlines for any traffic or bookings made through Google Flights. That could have swayed Southwest to jump aboard. Southwest flights still do not show on any other OTAs.
