Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday announced government’s full support for substantial investments in infrastructure for the gems & jewellery sector to establish Mumbai as the industry’s capital. The minister added that government was willing to examine giving export insurance coverage for individual exports of gems & jewellery through the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation.
He assured backing for the Indian Gems and Jewellery Park on a 21-acre site in Mahape, Navi Mumbai.Goyal also noted the readiness of the Mega Common Facilitation Center in Seepz, which is equipped with world-class machinery.
