PUNE: On the occasion of International Education Day and Republic Day, The Academy School (TAS), Pune, celebrated the importance of holistic education, said a statement issued by the school.
While celebrating Education Day, pre-primary students of TAS visited the Gram Sanskriti Udyan life lived in villages and revisited the concepts of pet, wild animals and domestic animals. To celebrate Republic Day, students reiterated the Independent Country, Independent Me (ICIM) initiative by emphasising the importance of books and formal education for a student. Few select students conducted a workshop for fellow students to strike a fine balance between the two schools of education.

“Such visits helps a student form a sense of acceptance and harmony amongst the rural and urban lifestyle as well. Education is not limited to books, but also to build a perception and awareness of everything around us,” said Dr Maithili Tambe, CEO, TAS in the statement.
The students were also informed about lives lead by people in the past as against life of recent times.
