Speculations arose about the sequel of romantic drama Cocktail when Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday were spotted outside Maddock Films’ office in Bandra a few years ago. Rumours also surfaced about Sara starring in the sequel of her father’s film slipping into Deepika Padukone’s iconic character.
With the major rise of speculations, fans wanted to see Kartik Aaryan as the male lead in this rom-com. However, according to a leading media portal, when the director of the original film Cocktail, Homi Adajania was asked about it, he laughed it off saying, “I have no idea about that,” slamming speculations surrounding the rom-com.
Released in 2012, Cocktail starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty in lead roles, receiving a good response from the audience.
