Indian actress Anasuya Sengupta created history as she won the Best Actress Award at the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival this year making her the first Indian ever to do so. She won it for her role in the film The Shameless.
Soon after the amazing announcement, B-town celebrities and the internet showered her with love and congratulatory messages. The actress reacted by saying, “I am amazed at the love pouring in from so many back home, it makes me proud to make everyone proud. I am literally taxi-ing in the plane now on my way home to my family, I just can’t wait to be with them,” according to a leading media portal.
Bollywood stars such as Alia Bhatt, Kiara Advani, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and many others took to social media to express how proud each one of them is of the actress’ victory praising her for her spectacular performance in the film.
