Tiger 3, the latest addition to the YRF Spy Universe, released earlier this month. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the film features Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprising their roles as Tiger and Zoya while Emraan Hashmi made waves as the antagonist Aatish Rehman. The unveiling of his character was just as dramatic as his arc in the action-thriller film.
In an exclusive interview with Filmfare Emraan Hashmi opened up about his bond with Salman Khan and how it translated to the film’s sets. He shared, “For actors, when you meet someone for the first time and you’re performing with them, it helps if you’ve known them before and you don’t have to break the ice. It’s not like we hang out every day. But I had taken my son to meet him at his home. He was very keen to meet him because he watched films like Dabangg. Salman was very sweet when we went to his place. I’ve known him since then”
He added, “He’s one of those actors who isn’t projecting an image. I don’t even see an ego there, he is what he is. I like that honesty. I’m comfortable with people like that. With some people, there’s always a facade. I don’t want to name these actors but sometimes you work with someone for a hundred days and you still don’t know them. But you sit for five minutes with Salman and you know he is who he is. I’m that way so we gel in that frequency.”
Emraan Hashmi’s Tiger 3 character garnered significant buzz. The film, which also features Riddhi Dogra, Vishal Jethwa, Ashutosh Rana and others, continues its box office run.
