Considered India’s first aerial-action drama, Fighter marks Siddharth Anand’s return a year after his blockbuster Pathaan. Deepika Padukone is a common link in both films and pairs with Hrithik for the first time. The movie promises a power-packed action spectacle, saluting the indomitable spirit of the Indian Air Force pilots safeguarding the nation’s skies. Primarily shot at Indian Air Force bases with real Sukhois and Indian fighter planes, it promises authenticity.
Last year, the teaser introduced the lead cast: Hrithik as Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania (Patty), Deepika as Squadron Leader Minal Rathore (Minni), and Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh (Rocky). The teaser showcased the cast in aerial stunts and jets, including a kissing scene between Hrithik and Deepika, ending with Hrithik unfurling the tricolour from his aircraft to the tune of Sujlam Suflam.
A recent release from the film is the Air Force Pilot-themed track, Heer Aasmani. Siddharth Anand mentioned that the song is dedicated to the special squad of Air Dragons, portraying crew bonding during briefings, training sessions, and downtime. Heer Aasmani captures the pure and almost unfathomable love of Air Force Pilots for the skies, expressing their passion.
Fighter will be released in theatres on January 25, 2024.
