Sharmila Tagore was one of the finest that there was throughout the late ’60s and early ’70s. As gorgeous as ever, she kickstarted several fashion trends of that period like the bouffant hairdo and the winged liner. But it was her onscreen chemistry with the top male stars at that time that stole the show. Be it Bollywood or Tollywood, she reigned and established herself with some of the biggest male superstars at that time.
Films like Aradhana and Amar Prem with Rajesh Khanna made us fall in love with their beautiful chemistry onscreen. With Uttam Kumar, her most noteworthy works where their camaraderie was noticed were Anand Ashram and Kalankini Kankabati. Dastaan with Dilip Kumar, An Evening in Paris with Shammi Kapoor and Soumitra Chatterjee in Devi had scenes that remain fresh in our memory.
