Josh Hutcherson talks about his character in The Beekeeper

Josh Hutcherson who is known for his portrayal of Peeta Mellark in the popular series The Hunger Games is all set to play a negative character in the upcoming action thriller film The Beekeeper. The film also stars Jason Statham who plays Mr. Clay, a not so ordinary beekeeper.
Coming back to Josh Hutcherson, talking about playing his character Derek Danforth, he said, “Playing Derek is a pretty big departure for me. He’s an absolute maniac who is high on power, high on money and high on many substances. I typically try to stay away from those things myself.” Adding further, the actor said, “But it was just, going into the headspace of somebody who is just on a tear and his ego and narcissism are just like, through the roof firing at levels that no one should ever experience, It’s a lot. It’s exhausting but it’s really fun to just tap into a whole other side of yourself that you didn’t know existed and you kind of find out, it’s scary that it can exist.”

Directed by David Ayer, The Beekeeper promises not only jaw-dropping action sequences but also a plot that will keep you hooked from start to finish. The film released in theatres back in January and will be released on OTT on April 26th.
