Karan Johar embraced parenthood nervously yet with excitement when he welcomed twins, Yash and Roohi, through surrogacy on February 7, 2017. Recently, the filmmaker opened up about the support he received from his close industry friends Rani Mukerji, Kajol, and Kareena Kapoor Khan during his journey as a single parent.
After wrapping up the shoot for his talk show, he shared insights into his personal life and parenting challenges. Expressing gratitude towards Kajol, Rani Mukerji, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karan mentioned that despite initially assuming he’d be the oldest parent in various circles, his friends had children around the same time. Kareena had Taimur just before his twins, and Rani had Adira a year earlier, making them his closest industry pals.
Highlighting Kajol’s connection with his kids, Karan mentioned her supportive role and how she effortlessly bonds with them. Recognising the importance of a support system, especially as a single parent, he expressed immense gratitude for his friends, acknowledging their unwavering presence despite past differences.
Reflecting on past conflicts with Kajol and Kareena, Karan emphasised the evolution of relationships, stating that he values their strengthened bond now more than revisiting times of discord. Closing on a note of gratitude, he acknowledged his growth and strength in their friendships today.
