Actress Richa Chadha who is gearing up for the release of her magnum opus web series Heeramandi with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, recently opened up about her bond with the celebrated director. She called their bond profound and based on their mutual love for traditional art forms and their collaborative journey in the world of cinema.
Speaking about their special relationship, Richa Chadha said, “Sanjay and I share a deep connection as old souls who harbour a profound love and respect for classic art forms, ranging from music to dance to the cinematic craft itself. His signature style, characterised by grandiose sets and extravagant song sequences, has always resonated with me.”
Richa who earlier collaborated with the filmmaker on Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela first hand experienced Bhansali’s commitment to bringing stories to life with splendour and grandeur. Their upcoming show Heeramandi seems to be another larger-than-life cinematic experience and is all set to release on May 1. The show explores the life of courtesans during a pivotal historical moment against the backdrop of Lahore’s Heeramandi red-light district during the Indian independence movement. The show also stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sharmin Segal, Fardeen Khan and Adhyayan Suman in pivotal roles.

On the personal front, Richa Chadha got married to actor Ali Fazal in 2022 and the couple is all set to welcome their first child soon.
