Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ended on a cliffhanger. The film did not have a post-credits scene. However, writer and producer Phil Lord revealed that there were plans for a post-credits scene featuring The Bar with No Name, a supervillain hangout spot.
The post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would have seen The Spot grabbing a drink, or at least trying to.
In an interview with a leading news portal, Lord said, “And then he finally steals the drink for himself and he pours it down and it all leaks out of his holes. He’s the dorkiest villain. A great line that Chris wrote, though: ‘Trying to fill a hole in his heart with more holes.’ Not a great method.”
In Across the Spider-Verse, The Spot is the villain who goes up against Miles Morales’ Spider-Man and ends up becoming one of the biggest threats to the multiverse.
The film ends with a “to be continued” and opens up several questions that will be answered in the next instalment. Lord further added, “Hard to beat where we left off.”
