Vidya Balan has recently opened up about being smitten by the Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, Kriti Sanon starrer Crew. During an interview with a leading media website, the actress congratulated the cast for dominating the box office despite not making a masculine movie.
Balan noted that she is satisfied that the idea of action-packed and masculine films only being financially successful has been debunked. “Not all macho blockbusters are doing well,” she added.
The Bhool Bhulaiyaa actress discussed how women-led movie are receiving their recognition post-pandemic. She noted that it “thrills” her that a movie like Crew, where women of different age groups played the lead, has held its position so well at the box office.
Balan herself will be seen next in the movie Do Aur Do Pyaar, which is slated to be released on April 19. It stars Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy in the lead roles.
