“Our close cooperation with Andritz Novimpianti has enabled a smooth and quick start-up of the upgraded combustion system. With this upgrade we have not only optimised the performance of our burners but also made our operations safer and more sustainable. Andritz’s tailor made approach perfectly met our needs,” Lee Mc Donald, project engineer at Essity Prudhoe mill, said.
Andritz has enhanced Essity’s tissue machine in England, optimising combustion control to reduce gas consumption by up to 4 per cent.
This upgrade significantly lowers CO2 and NOx emissions, improving safety and sustainability.
The collaboration underscores Andritz’s commitment to supporting Essity in achieving efficient and eco-friendly tissue production.
“We are very honoured that Essity again placed their trust in us for this project and happy to continue our close collaboration for sustainable tissue production,” Gianni Pellini, project manager at Andritz Novimpianti, said.
Essity is a Sweden-based leading global hygiene and health company with five manufacturing sites throughout the UK. Trends such as longer life expectancy, higher living standards and greater awareness of hygiene and health support the group’s growth, which is based on successful innovations, digital transformation, leading sustainability work and efficiency improvements.
