Home-based entity CartonCraft Limited has decided to invest $2.51 million in BEPZA Economic Zone to set up a packaging and accessories manufacturing facility.
It plans to produce 72 million pieces of corrugated cartoon, poly, elastic, tags and 28.8 million metres gum tape annually while also creating employment opportunity for 325 Bangladeshi nationals.
Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) recently signed an agreement with CartonCraft Limited to this effect at the BEPZA Complex in capital Dhaka.
Syed Mohammad Hasan, managing director of CartonCraft Limited and Ali Reza Mazid, member (investment promotion) of BEPZA, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations, BEPZA said in a press release.
Present at the signing ceremony were also BEPZA executive chairperson Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, member (engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, executive director (admin) A N M Foyzul Haque, and executive director (investment promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, amongst others.
