The average PPI for January–September 2023 decreased by 3.1 per cent YoY, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
China’s producer price index (PPI), which measures the cost of goods at the factory gate, declined by 2.5 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in September 2023.
This rate is less severe compared to a 3 per cent drop in August and a 4.4 per cent fall in July 2023.
The average PPI for the period between January and September 2023 decreased by 3.1 per cent YoY.
The index saw a minor uptick of 0.4 per cent on a monthly basis in September, up from the 0.2 per cent increase recorded in August 2023.
