In March of the current year, compared with the previous month, the highest contribution to the total consumer price index came from higher prices related to food (by 2.3 per cent) and clothing and footwear (by 5 per cent) among others, Statistics Poland said in a media release.
In March 2023, consumer prices in Poland increased by 16.1 per cent YoY, with a 17.1 per cent increase in goods prices.
Compared to the previous month, consumer prices rose by 1.1 per cent, with goods prices increasing by 1.2 per cent.
The largest contributors to the price increase included food (2.3 per cent) and clothing and footwear (5 per cent).
The inflation net of food and energy prices in the country amounted to 12.3 per cent year-on-year (YoY), while the consumer price index (CPI) stood at 16.1 per cent YoY, as per data on core inflation indices for March 2023 released by the National Bank of Poland (NBP).
