Organ donation and transplantation is an act of removing an organ from one person, who is the donor, and surgically placing it in another, known as the recipient. Most of the organs, including the liver, kidney, pancreas and heart can be donated. However, organ donation in India is not a widespread practice. It is surrounded by various myths and misunderstandings, that often overshadows the intent.
