NEW DELHI: Swaminathan Janakiraman has been appointed as the deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India for a period of three years.
As per a notification issued on Tuesday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Janakiraman’s name.

Janakiraman is currently the managing director of the State Bank of India.
