I sold a couple of lots today of GOLDM in Zerodha, when I sold, in the day’s history it says -2 in quantity and the price of the commodity is rising but it is showing loss. I don’t understand why it says -2.
Hey @Anchit_Sethi
If you had shorted a contract, it would appear as a negative value due to short selling.
When you take a short position, for example, at 100 rupees, you aim to profit when the price falls below 100 rupees, allowing you to buy it at a lower price. In case the price moves above 100 rupees you are bound to make losses.
Similarly in your situation, since the price of the commodity is rising you are incurring losses.
