December is on track for a record-breaking month in Indian equity issuances, with companies raising Rs 20,989 crore through IPOs, QIPs, rights issues, and offers for sale, surpassing the previous high of Rs 13,758 crore in December 2017.
India’s natural gas production rose 20% in two years, reaching 34.45 billion cubic meters in FY23 from 28.7 billion cubic meters in 2020-21, driven by efforts to increase the use of cleaner fuel in the country’s energy mix.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries will acquire a 16.7% stake in U.S.-based Lyndra Therapeutics for $30 million, expanding its presence in the development of long-acting oral therapies.
Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) has received approval from its board of directors to acquire Rabirun Vinimay Private Ltd, which is currently in liquidation. The acquisition will cost Rs 96 crore, as stated in a regulatory filing by JSL.
Macquarie intends to venture into India’s credit market with a $400 million investment in its electric vehicle platform, including the creation of an NBFC. The firm aims to build a $1.2-2 billion NBFC book over the next 7-8 years.
