Adele drives a hard bargain. Last year, the “Easy on Me” singer bought Sylvester Stallone’s 15,000-plus-square-foot Beverly Park abode at a super discounted $58 million (down from $85 million, after an original $110 million price tag). Not only did the songstress snap up the estate for a little over half the asking price, but now details have emerged about one of the Grammy winner’s absolute dealbreakers—the bronze statue of Stallone’s character Rocky Balboa from the iconic five-part film franchise Rocky, had to remain perched at the edge of the homes’s infinity pool, or the sale would be a no-go.
Rocky was one of the actor’s biggest movie franchises, so it would seem logical that Stallone might want to take a bit of the movie memorabilia with him. But in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, when asked if the statue wasn’t something he wanted to keep, Stallone replied: “I did. But she said, ‘That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal.’” The star’s hands were tied at that moment and he had no choice but to give in to the vocalist’s request.

Although Adele is currently back in Las Vegas, extending her residency with Caesar’s Palace until the beginning of November, TMZ reported earlier this month that the Academy Award winner had already begun renovations on the Mediterranean mansion. Pictures show the house stripped down to its bare bones with the second floor completely knocked off; however, that Rocky statue? It’s still there, fist in air, standing watch over the calm waters of the infinity pool.
