The ultraluxury hospitality brand Aman is an expert in creating welcoming, stylish resorts and hotels—and now, with the launch of Aman Interiors, the brand is prepared to help others bring some of that A-lister magic home.
“Everyone in Miami talks about the clouds and how the light is so special here,” says Morad Tabrizi, CEO of Aman Interiors. “The sunsets and sunrises are so beautiful.” But it’s the shadows that this special sunlight casts which inspired AD100 Hall of Fame architect Kengo Kuma’s inaugural furniture collection for Aman’s new design division, all launched last week at Design Miami. In the spirit of the hospitality company’s context-driven hotels, Kuma’s limited edition Migumi table and armchair are constructed of luxurious, nature-borne materials and designed to play to Miami’s natural strengths.
Though the collaboration marks the first release of Aman Interiors furnishings, it isn’t the first venture between the architect and brand. Most recently, Kuma completed the architectural design of the Aman Miami Beach Residences, a 22-apartment tower opening in the coastal city in 2026, along with a new Aman hotel. Observations the architect made during time spent in Miami designing the project helped inform the Migumi collection’s white oak bases, which were made in Japan using traditional shiguchi interlocking wood joints held without nails. Some layered oak veneer parts encase reinforcing steel, “to achieve a light and elegant structural form,” that is also strong, describes Kuma, who is known for his innovative wood architecture constructions. The dining table is topped with a rounded wabi-sabi slab of Calacatta marble and the armchair has a upholstered seat.
