Hip-hop icon Dr. Dre has found a buyer for his Mediterranean-style Calabasas mansion, according to Dirt. The 9,378-square-foot house fetched $6 million, making for a roughly $1 million profit from when the rap mogul bought the place back in 2018.
Settled on a private cul-de-sac in a gated community, the six-bedroom and seven-bathroom structure was built in 1997 but has recently undergone about $1 million in renovations and updates, per listing details. The two-level stucco and terracotta abode rests on a well-appointed palm tree-studded lot a little smaller than an acre. Multiple fire pits, an amoeba-shaped pool and spa with an adjacent pergola-topped lounge area, a basketball court, and an outdoor kitchen with a nearby pizza oven are all found amidst the scenic mountain views.
Inside, the home boasts light oak flooring, high ceilings, and luxe stone finishes throughout. Upon entry through the portico-topped front door, a winding staircase with intricately scrolled ironwork catches the eye in the double-height foyer. To the right, a sunken sitting room features a fireplace between two sets of tall french doors and an adjacent picture window. Other interior highlights include an expansive eat-in kitchen armed with a fleet of high-end stainless steel appliances, a tiered movie room, and a primary suite complete with a fireplace, two impressive wood-walled walk-in closets, a huge en-suite bathroom, and access to a wraparound balcony.
The legendary rapper is still trying to offload a Malibu beach house for $20 million and maintains a Pacific Palisades property that he bought in 2019 for $2.25 million and his primary residence at the sprawling Brentwood estate that he bought in 2014 from Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen for $40 million. That home was featured in the October 2013 issue of Architectural Digest when it was still under Brady and Bündchen’s ownership.
