Studiopepe x Muuto
Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto, founders of the Milan design agency Studiopepe, illuminate the connection between simple yet enduring Italian and Scandinavian design with their Relevo rug for Muuto. Hand-tufted from 100% New Zealand wool—Muuto’s first tufted variety—the rugs, each showcasing one grounding, rounded corner, were cleverly trimmed at different pile heights to garner a mélange of geometric arcs, a mesmerizing sculptural imprint that recalls the deep furrows of Land art. Through an interplay of light and shadow, the monochrome Relevo appears spectacularly two-toned.
Shantell Martin x Joya
There is a riveting candor and spontaneity to multidisciplinary British artist Shantell Martin’s drawings, and those illustrations are currently buoying the hand-poured candles of Brooklyn fragrance and design studio Joya. In one version, Martin’s work is screen printed onto a glass votive; in the other, marked by Joya’s Artist XL three-wick candles, it is splashed across a cast porcelain vessel speckled with hints of 22-karat white gold. The time-lapsed scents of lavender, rose, green tea, and vanilla flower wafting from two separate layers of wax were also developed with Martin’s expertise in mind.
Society Social x The Colony Hotel
During the long-awaited 75th anniversary revamp of clubby Palm Beach fixture The Colony Hotel, Kemble Interiors turned to the likes of Brown Jordan, deGournay, Farrow & Ball, and Society Social to give the hotel a whimsical new sheen. But thanks to the Society Social’s Roxy Owens and Colony’s Sarah Wetenhall, the Pink Paradise capsule collection can transform everyday spaces into glam Southern Florida getaways. The plump Worth Avenue swivel and scalloped Hammon chairs, along with the curved upholstered Royal headboard, brass-capped Wavy cocktail table, and Seaview sofa adorned with contrast piping all evoke Old World Palm Beach. Look out for the next drop on March 16: an assemblage of rattan pieces, including a nightstand informally sketched by Wetenhall’s son, and a delightfully flamboyant Two-Martini Petal chair.
Colin King x Troy Lighting
Stylist, creative director, and author Colin King expands his ever-shifting oeuvre with a new lighting collection for Troy Lighting. Within it, King designed 27 fixtures that exude a graceful, restrained silhouette and embrace unconventional materials like parchment paper and fiber webbing. A tapered shade softens a travertine base in Bronte, a pyramid-shaped Knight sconce enlivens walls with its patinated brass finish, and the Roux pendant is wrapped in metal bands for an industrial flourish.
