Serena Dugan Studio x Erik Lindström
Before her career was immersed in textiles, Serena Dugan (who cofounded the lifestyle brand Serena & Lily in 2003) was a fine artist. In fact, it was her bold painterly strokes—produced at her eponymous Sausalito, California, studio—that caught the eye of luxe LA rug maker Erik Lindström, prompting him to include her designs in his Artisan collection. A trifecta of Dugan’s graphic patterns (named for the Mexico City neighborhoods of Condesa, Polanco, and Roma) exhibit vivid hues and geometries that draw from midcentury Mexican architect Luis Barragán’s daring oeuvre.
Natalia Miyar x Fromental
Mesmerized by Wilfredo Lam’s 1943 surrealist painting La Jungla, London- and Miami-based designer Natalia Miyar created her debut line of wallpaper for Fromental. An ode to Miyar’s Cuban heritage, tropical Ambia summons the Caribbean in jewel-like shades of green, aquamarine, and pearlescent pink, among others, printed onto wax paper and elegantly finished in metallic foil. Along with Miyar’s exploration of hand-painted marbling, paint speckles, and buckskin textures, the wallpaper’s cracked eggshell inlay provides a winsome and color-blocked illusion from afar.
Marie Flanigan x Annie Selke
The zen 45-piece range that Houston designer Marie Flanigan dreamed up for home decor brand Annie Selke is at once warm and sophisticated, spanning from minimalist rugs woven out of sustainable jute to linen duvet covers donning classic pinstripes. Even the accessories, such as satin-stitched decorative pillows that call to mind antique Chinese botanical paintings and throws adorned with hand-knotted tassels, attest to Flanigan’s reverence for timeless details.
