It’s been less than 10 years since Mark Wahlberg’s custom Beverly Hills home was completed and the actor is already preparing to move out. Wahlberg listed the property for $87.5 million in April, and has now dropped the price of the 30,500 square-foot home to $79.5 million.
The grand chateau style home sits on a 6.2 acre land parcel in a gated community in the Beverly Park section of Los Angeles. It contains 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms spread between a main house, a separate guesthouse, a pool cabana, and a viewing pavilion located next to the sports court. Built by architect Richard Landry, the exterior of the massive structure incorporates elements inspired by the French countryside. Front doors open to a double height room with custom millwork and a sweeping staircase that flaunts intricate iron balusters. Most rooms are topped with coffered ceilings and a fireplace is on offer in innumerable rooms, even in one of the bathrooms. The primary suite offers a living and sleeping area, plus a spacious balcony that looks out on the sprawling backyard. There are two extra large walk-in closets (one of which has two island-like storage areas) and two similarly roomy bathrooms, each with its own deep soak tub.
There’s a long list of recreation amenities out back, including a 5 hole golf course, a sports court, a skate park, and a grotto pool with a lounge area surrounding a fireplace perched on top. Inside holds two kitchens (one for prep), staff quarters, a huge gym, a wine cellar and tasting room, and a movie theater.
