For Jianna Justice, going to the movies and going to work are one and the same. Enticed by the silver screen from an early age, the A24 senior brand creative always had a talent for tracking down any and all film-related prospects she finds intriguing. “If you were a kid in Georgia that loved movies, you [had] to desperately seek out your own opportunities,” she recalls. Feeding her obsession by binging old Hollywood pictures with her mother and attending nearby screenings (including one for the Mike Mills–directed classic 20th Century Women in 2016), the Georgia native naturally developed a keen fascination with what was happening behind-the-scenes in her favorite flicks.
In a seemingly perfect twist of fate, Jianna now works in marketing at one of today’s most exciting entertainment companies. With the goal of “getting into the mind of a movie,” as she describes it, Jianna’s endeavors at A24 include collaborating on all creative brand initiatives like Everything Everywhere hot dog fingers or the the company’s podcast which features engaging conversations between industry greats like Willem Dafoe and Isabella Rosellini. “We’re constantly asking, ‘How do we put things into the world that will speak to people?’” she says. But when Jianna isn’t dreaming up ideas and activations for the cult-followed studio, she translates her love for cinema through the interior design of her New York apartment, as she is constantly on the hunt for pieces that truly speak to her.

What’s your favorite feature about your apartment?
The creative made her way back to New York City in 2021 after a brief stint in Los Angeles. Having previously been a NYC resident, she was no stranger to the perils of apartment hunting. Settling in a one-bedroom in Fort Greene with her pup, Theo, Jianna’s criteria for her new place was modest to say the least. “I literally remember saying to a friend, ‘I just need natural light—like some good sunlight. I would love hardwood floors, and I would love white walls.’” Snagging a coveted COVID rent price helped seal the deal for the place she’s called home for almost two years now. The space’s biggest standout? “It was really the windows,” Jianna insists. “I walked in and was like, I think I could be really happy here.”
