Cred, the credit card bill payment platform, has announced a design update for its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) experience. The update is set to go live on March 22 and will offer several new features and rewards for every transaction. Apart from that, Cred is also offering limited-time luxury drops across select locations in India.
The highlight of the update is a new rhodium-inspired visual design for the UPI interface. The design will feature a silver skin that interacts with the environment, changing colours accordingly. Additionally, an aura will glow while scanning QR codes, and users will receive jade, rose gold, and rhodium medallions upon completing transactions.
Cred aims to enhance the rewarding experience for its users during the cricket season. Instead of limiting rewards to credit card bill payments, Cred will now offer rewards for every transaction made through its platform.
Furthermore, Cred has introduced a “streak” concept. As a part of this, the credit card bill payment platform is offering users the option to unlock rewards and mega jackpots on five consecutive UPI payments. Rewards can also be earned by challenging friends to join Cred and begin their streaks.
During the cricket season, Cred will bring luxury rewards to Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai. Users will have the opportunity to win products from brands like Meta, Nothing, Apple, Marshall, Tumi, Tom Ford and Gucci by scanning QR codes at select bars, restaurants, stores, airports, and malls.
Kunal Shah, Founder, Cred, said, “The replacement of cash with UPI has made physical wallets redundant in favour of the smartphone. But changing form factors don’t address the human instinct to differentiate and signal our success. CRED UPI is a payment experience for the 1%; it’s the UPI equivalent of flaunting a premium credit card or opening a designer wallet. We’re excited to see members flash CRED UPI for all their payments, win big, and reduce credit card bills at the same time.
