It’s increasingly not difficult to believe that Donald Trump is going to win the Republican nomination for President in 2024. Despite the indictments and trials, he seems to have a hold on the spot. Time will tell if it continues that way, but for now, it seems inevitable.
Here are ten legitimate reasons Trump will secure the nomination.
He’s Got a Huge Lead
Trump currently has a stranglehold on polling. Recent polls show him at nearly 60 percent support among likely Republican voters.
Ron DeSantis is closest, polling around 15 percent. Things don’t look good for any of his challengers.
No One Will Oppose Him
Few Republican candidates will truly say anything against the former President. It seems as many remaining candidates are making sure not to raise his ire too much.
One could argue it’s because they want to be his Vice-President selection.
He’s a Bully
It doesn’t take much to see that Trump often comes across as a bully. This is particularly the case against opponents.
Numerous political commentators have indicated that challengers don’t like being targeted with one of his infamous nicknames. Combine that with his lead and it’s tough to see how he loses.
He Has a Hold on a Chunk of Voters
Not all Republicans support Trump. However, he seems to have a tight grip on 35 to 40 percent of the Republican base.
He doesn’t need to add that much to his base to ensure his victory.
The Indictments and Trials Aren’t Harming Him
Never have we seen a President, former or current, under such legal heat. Indictments and trials come, but nothing seems to stick against Teflon Don.
In fact, many argue that it only strengthens his numbers.
He’s Leading in the Polls vs Biden
Republicans are antsy to take back the White House. And Trump may provide them with that.
He’s currently leading in numerous battleground states versus Biden. That alone can spell victory for the former President.
Republicans Already See Him That Way
Republicans can read polling just as well as Democrats. They see Trump as giving them the best chance to win.
He is fantastic at tapping into the emotions of his supporters and using that to his electoral benefit. That encourages Republicans to want to return to victory.
The Fundraising is Behind Him
Money isn’t everything, but it says a lot about politics. Reports show that Trump brought in a total of over $45 million in fundraising in the third quarter.
The next closest was DeSantis at $15 million. You have to follow the money.
No One is Rising in the Polls
It’s rarely too early for polling, and polling has shown the same thing for months. No one is rising in polls other than Trump.
Challengers continue to drop out and the remaining ones don’t seem to pick up the pieces. DeSantis was the closest, peaking around 30 percent support over the summer. It is about half of that now.
People Aren’t Scared Enough of a Second Trump Term
We’re in unprecedented times. The former President has multiple ongoing trials, but it doesn’t seem to shake many supporters.
Despite the prospect of Trump being convicted, people have short memories. They don’t remember or care about the chaos that often ensued under the first Trump term.
