People in Poland marched in at least 80 towns and cities last week to protest the death of a 33 year old woman who was wrongfully denied an abortion that could have saved her life.
The rights of Dorota Lalik were infringed, said patients’ rights ombudsman Bartlomiej Chmielowiec, when doctors at John Paul II Hospital in Nowy Targ neglected to tell her that chances of a successful pregnancy were low and that an abortion could prevent the risk of sepsis.
