Jordan Webster made himself known as part of the 2018 class of Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30: The Next Generation, which is sponsored by Green-tech, a company where he has spent the last decade working his way up to his new position of sales manager.
Having recently celebrated his 10-year anniversary at the company, the former key account manager Webster has stepped up to the challenge of sales manager, heading up the newly refurbished Green-tech trade centre that is based in North Yorkshire. “This is where all our collection customers funnel through. The Trace Centre stocks everything our landscapers need to fulfil their projects, as well as tools, workwear and accessories to merit our customer’s needs,” says Webster.
He oversees the team which is tasked with identifying local growth opportunities and driving sales through new and existing customers.
Looking after a team of nine people, with an overall budget of £7.5m, Webster is involved in the day-to-day management, signing off quotes, orders, dealing with issues, performance reviews and arranging quarterly one-to-ones with his team.
“Taking on the Sales Manager role is a great opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to implementing my ideas and helping both my team and the business to develop and grow,” says Webster.
When entering Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30 awards, Webster was asked why young people should enter the industry, he answered: “It is a fast-paced, exciting industry to be in; perfect for young enthusiastic individuals who want to embark on a varied and rewarding career path.” And for Webster, it’s been exactly that.
Not only have his efforts been recognised with his promotion at Green-tech, but he has also gone on to become a member of the Yorkshire and Northeast Regional BALI Committee. He attributes part of his success to joining the 30 Under 30 alumni. “It’s becoming an industry recognised award for young individuals within landscaping,” says Webster. It allows him to interact and engage more with current winners, gaining him industry friends and connections which have helped him to grow and develop within his position at Green-tech.
“Short term my goal is to do my very best in developing the individuals within my team. Long term – who knows…” says Webster.
