In regular occassions and festivals we wear regular blouses, may be with a few design elements like a frill at the sleeve, or a trim on the neck or piping. But for those very special occassions like a maturity function, or engagements, or marraige work blouses add that extra sparkle. The embellishments embroidered over the blouses look so pretty and add the extra glam.
For long my clients have been asking me occassionally if I do work blouses. I wanted to start this service and wanted these type of blouses to be available to my clients here in USA. I ordered the zari threads, aari embroidery needles, and the glue on shiny tiny pieces from India. They arrived 2 months back in September. I learned aari embroidery watching various YouTube videos. YouTube has been a very reliable teacher for me over the years.
Like always, I started working on embroidered blouse for me. I try things on first on myself before offering it to others. I did the marking for the neck and did 2 rows of chain stirch with zari thread and 1 row of gold beads.
Then I glued on zardosi bordered kundans and did a row of machine embroidery in pink color.
I am mostly working on this blouse in the night after being done with house work. I added small gold beads between the round kundans.
To proceed further I needed aari embroidery frame. I checked online. Most of them were over $50. So this time I wanted to proceed with a DIY frame. After coming back from work, i cut out a frame from a cardboard and used binder clips to attach the fabric.
I sticked square kundans and stitched 3 gold beads under each square to finish.
I am happy with the outcome. This is surely an interesting craft.
