Buzzing dance duo BEAUZ returns to Monstercat Instinct today alongside viral producer Ellis and acclaimed vocalist Sarah de Warren with their fresh house single, “IRL.”
“IRL” is a heartwarming track that incorporates many of BEAUZ’s and Ellis’ familiar elements, leading with vibrant melodies, glimmering synth soundscapes, and dopamine-inducing sensations. Sarah de Warren helms the track with her infectious vocals that bring listeners back to a time where they desired real life interaction with the people they love and care about, serving as a reminder of the essence of human interaction in the post-pandemic era.
BEAUZ shares, “Working with Ellis has been on our list ever since we got into the game, and we were ecstatic to know that Ellis and we both felt inspired when we heard this top-line from our long time friend Sarah De Warren. “IRL” is a beautiful track that calls for people to remember how much more dimensional and humanistic real life interaction is compared to digitalized ones. Embedded on top of a Nu-disco-esque beat, the gated vocal chops in the drop leaves us with a strong sense of longing and desire. Hope everybody can baddie up with this one!”
Ellis adds, “BEAUZ and I were going through top lines in the studio and as soon as I heard Sarah’s I knew we had to work on it. We made the first idea at this dope airbnb in Amsterdam that Monstercat had hired out. The demo we had from that day was much slower and funkier, but we ended up speeding the whole song up by like 10bpm.”
Sarah de Warren comments, “We all got separated from the people we love during the pandemic, and we wrote this song about all the people we missed seeing in real life. You can try and fill in the spaces with memories and pictures and phone calls, but it’s not the same.”
