Drake has unveiled plans to broaden the scope of his OVO Sound venture through a strategic collaboration with Todd Moscowitz’s Santa Anna Label Group.
Under this newly forged partnership, OVO Sound, a label overseen by Drake alongside Noah ‘40’ Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib, and Mr. Morgan, will maintain its independent label distribution status. Meanwhile, Santa Anna Label Group will contribute a comprehensive array of services, including A&R, production, financial management, marketing and promotional support, as well as artist and label services.
Drake’s affiliation with the OVO brand, representing October’s Very Own, has been deeply intertwined with his musical journey. Formally established as an independent label, OVO Sound emerged as a subsidiary of Warner Records.
During this period, Todd Moscowitz held the role of co-president and CEO at Warner Records. Under the OVO Sound umbrella, Drake has curated a platform for emerging talent, fostering the careers of artists such as Majid Jordan, Dvsn, and Roy Woods.
This recent partnership announcement with Santa Anna Label Group comes amid heightened anticipation surrounding OVO signee PartyNextDoor’s forthcoming album, ‘P4’, scheduled for release in the initial quarter of 2024.
This strategic move underscores Drake’s ongoing commitment to nurturing artistic expression and cultivating a dynamic landscape within the music industry.
