Following a string of arrests and concern over his well-being, Ezra Miller has announced that they “have begun ongoing treatment” to address “complex mental health issues.”
In a statement released on Monday evening, Miller — who uses they/them pronouns — acknowledged that they had “recently gone through a time of intense crisis.”
Miller went on to apologize to “everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior,” and said they were “committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”
Since March of this year, Miller has been arrested three times. During a month stretch in Hawaii in the spring, Miller was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree assault. And earlier this month, Miller was arrested and charged with felony burglary after allegedly stealing several bottles of alcohol from an unoccupied residence.
Miller has also been accused of grooming underage children and wearing body armor and carrying a gun at all times. Some of the actor’s alleged sexual partners have compared them to a cult leader
Despite these incidents, The Flash, which stars Miller in the titular role, is expected in theaters next summer, and at least publicly, Warner Bros. Discovery has suggested they have no plans to change course. “We have some great DC films coming up — Black Adam, Shazam, and Flash, and we’re working on all of those,” WBD CEO David Zaslav said during the company’s quarterly earnings call. “We’re very excited about them. We’ve seen them, we think they’re terrific.”
This is a developing story…
