Glen Powell is reflecting on the breakup with his ex-girlfriend Gigi Paris earlier this year. In a recent interview about his new movie ‘Anyone But You,’ where he stars alongside Sydney Sweeney, the 35-year-old actor discussed the challenges he faced during the film’s promotional tour in April. Powell and Sweeney, 26, had emphasized their onscreen chemistry, leading to speculation.
Powell explained, “Well, look, the only reason it made things harder for me to lean into that stuff was that I was going through a very real breakup amidst a promotional tour.” He shared that he was in a relationship he deeply cared about, making it difficult for him to navigate the promotional activities. Powell acknowledged that Sweeney, being in a committed and happy relationship, found it easier to embrace the onscreen chemistry.
Following their appearance at CinemaCon, it was revealed that Powell and Paris had broken up several weeks earlier. Sources indicated that the couple had been facing challenges since the release of ‘Top Gun’ in 2022 and had experienced multiple breakups in the past.
According to a source, Gigi Paris was unhappy with the challenges of a long-distance relationship during Glen Powell’s filming of ‘Anyone But You’ in Australia. Consequently, when she visited Powell during the filming, both decided to end their relationship permanently.

Sydney Sweeney, Powell’s co-star, is engaged to Jonathan Davino, with their engagement in March 2022. When discussing their onscreen chemistry during the press tour for ‘Anyone But You,’ Powell credited Sweeney for their dynamic, emphasizing her intelligence. He clarified that while they indeed shared authentic chemistry on screen, any rumours of an off-screen romance were unfounded, and he laughed off such notions.
Powell, who admitted to growing up with a romantic mindset due to his parents, opened up about being single in an interview with Bustle. He acknowledged the challenges of navigating relationships in the public eye, reassuring himself that embracing failures and learning from them is a natural part of the journey toward finding lasting love.
