Linda Hamilton, renowned for her portrayal of Sarah Connor in the ‘Terminator’ franchise, has declared that she’s hanging up her combat boots.
The 67-year-old actress first brought the character to life in the iconic 1984 film ‘The Terminator,’ reprising the role in the highly acclaimed ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ (1991) and most recently in ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ (2019). However, she opted out of appearing in ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines’ (2003), ‘Terminator: Salvation’ (2009) and ‘Terminator: Genisys’ (2015).

Despite her triumphant return to the ‘Terminator’ universe four years ago, Hamilton recently asserted that she has no interest in being part of any potential reboot of the beloved franchise. “I’m done. I’m done. I have nothing more to say. The story’s been told, and it’s been done to death,” she candidly expressed to Business Insider.
Hamilton questioned the rationale behind revisiting the franchise, stating, “Why anybody would relaunch it is a mystery to me. But I know our Hollywood world is built on relaunches right now.”
The actress also dispelled the notion of Sarah Connor being hailed as an “icon.” “I truly feel like and felt like, Sarah Connor is not an icon. She’s a woman in hell. She makes some really bad choices. She’s not a good mother, she’s a good fighter!” she remarked.
Reflecting on the enduring fan adoration for her ‘Terminator’ character, Hamilton joked about the stark contrast between her real-life persona and the tough-as-nails Sarah Connor. “If you could see how utterly hapless I am during my life and my daily life! But it’s pretty cute and I have no complaints, it’s delightful,” she added.
This isn’t the first time Hamilton has expressed her reluctance to reprise the role. In 2020, she told The Hollywood Reporter that she “would be quite happy to never return” to the franchise.
