Nate Amos (of Water From Your Eyes and My Idea) is releasing a new EP under his moniker This Is Lorelei. The new release, EP #33, arrives August 25. Below, listen to the new song “The Laughter Remains.”
Amos launched This Is Lorelei in 2015 when he was living in Chicago and producing records for friends and peers in the local DIY scene. Though he collaborates with Water From Your Eyes’ Rachel Brown and his My Idea bandmate, Lily Konigsberg, Amos writes, produces, engineers, and performs the entirety of This Is Lorelei’s catalog.
In a press release, Amos wrote that “The Laughter Remains” follows “an unnamed narrator who observes an angel singing to a dying bird on a beach,” and that the single was “inspired by the waltzes of Shane MacGowan and the poetry of Emily Dickinson.”
Water From Your Eyes released their latest album, Everyone’s Crushed, earlier this year. Amos and Brown recently wrapped up a tour behind the record.
EP #33:
01 Dollars in the Dark
