A man was beaten to death in Delhi’s Saket over a quarrel regarding the parking of a car. Police have apprehended one of the accused involved in the case.

A man was beaten to death on July 16 in front of the Saket metro station in a quarrel over parking a car. The deceased man has been identified as Rohit.
WHAT IS THE INCIDENT?
Police said they received a call on July 16 at around 3 am that a man was bleeding out near the gate of the Saket metro station. On reaching the spot, the police found the injured man was already taken to Safdarjung hospital and on July 17 at around 5 am, the hospital said Rohit succumbed to his injuries.
During the inquiry, police found out that Rohit was injured in a fight that took place on July 16 at around 1:30 am. Rohit’s friend, Rahul Yadav, said he along with Rohit and two others were sitting in a car parked near gate 2 of Saket metro station when 5 to 6 men who were standing nearby started an argument with Rohit on the issue of parking the car. In the scuffle that followed, Rohit was hit by bricks and stones on his head and he was injured badly.
Police registered a case on the basis of the statements given by Rohit’s friends. During the investigation, police apprehended a man identified as Priyanshu who was one of the accused involved in the case.
During the interrogation, Priyanshu said that he, along with five more friends, were standing near the metro station’s gate when four men in a car approached them. They wanted to park where Priyanshu and his friends were standing. According to Priyanshu, the driver started blowing the car horn but he and his friends did not move from their spot.
A fight ensued afterwards and two of the accused hit Rohit with bricks and stones on his head. They soon ran away from the spot.
Police said investigations are underway to nab the others accused in the case.
