PUNE: A cyclonic circulation likely to form over eastcentral Bay of Bengal around September 7 and a Low Pressure Area under its influence over westcentral Bay of Bengal during subsequent 48 hours are likely to activate monsoon in several parts of India from September 7.
IMD has forecast fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm lightning over coastal Andhra Pradesh on September 5 till 9. Similar spells are expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during September 5-8. Telangana, coastal and South interior Karnataka, Kerala are likely to witness such spells during the next five days, IMD said in a forecast on Monday.
Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm lightning are also expected over Rayalaseema during September 6-9, interior Karnataka during September 5 to 6 and over Lakshadweep during September 5-7.
Heavy to very heavy rains in isolated parts of the state have not been ruled out, including in ghat areas of Pune as well as other districts in Maharashtra. Several districts of the state are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall, thundershowers and lightning during the coming days, including Thane, Raigad ,Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Nashik, Parbhani among several others.
