A 46-year-old man was found dead on the banks of Rajwahe’s track in Parikshitgarh after going missing on Monday. On June 29, the family of the deceased, identified as Rashid, discovered a letter in their courtyard informing them of Rashid’s death and directing them to where they could find the body. They immediately filed a report with the Parikshitgarh police station in Meerut.
The police discovered Rajid’s body and sent it for a post-mortem. The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.
There are no injuries, knife or bullet marks on the body, and there is a possibility of death by poison.
Darsala, son of Rashid, used to work at a welding shop at Mawana base in Parikshitgarh town. On the evening of June 25, Rashid had left his son’s shop and did not return home. The family members then started looking for the Rashid but were unable to find him.
Meanwhile, his relatives found a hand-written letter in the courtyard of Rashid’s house in which it was mentioned that Rashid ‘was no longer in this world’ and his body was lying near the canal with his clothes, shoes, vest, and towel.
Further investigation is underway.
