Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday claimed that more Shiv Sena leaders from the Uddhav Thackeray camp were in touch with him.
Earlier, Union minister Raosaheb Danve had claimed that 12 MPs of the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena are in touch with the Shinde faction.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MLA Santosh Bangar of Shinde group staged a show of strength after being removed by Uddhav Thackeray from the party post.
Bangar along with hundreds of activists gathered outside Eknath Shinde’s Sahyadri Gate House on Tuesday. Responding to this, Shinde said that this was not a show of strength, but a ‘vision of love.’
“Santosh Bangar and all the office bearers came here. They have shown how powerful they are. We will help them with their development work. The state government will not keep development works pending anywhere. Shiv Sena and BJP coalition government will work for development,” Shinde said.
Meanwhile, in a fresh setback to Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, party spokesperson and former Mumbai corporator Sheetal Mhatre crossed over to the Shinde faction on Tuesday.
On Tuesday night, Mhatre along with some Shiv Sena workers visited Shinde’s residence and expressed her support to him.
Shinde’s rebellion last month led to the collapse of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.
Shinde was sworn in as the chief minister on June 30 with Bharatiya Janata Party’s Devendra Fadnavis as the deputy CM.
