Addressing the Indian diaspora in France, PM Modi spoke about the setting up of Alliance Française in Ahmedabad around 40 years back.
“My attachment with France is quite old, and I can never forget it. Around 40 years ago, a cultural centre of France was started in Ahmedabad and the first member of that very centre is today talking to you,”, PM Modi said.
“Recently, they managed to trace my I-card from the old records and sent it to me. That gift for me is very valuable,” he added.
Addressing the gathering of Indians, PM Modi said “India is mother of democracy and model of diversity; it’s our big strength.”
“World has come to believe that it won’t take long for India to become $5 trillion economy,” PM Modi said.
Highlighting the significance of his visit, PM Modi said “I have visited France several times but this time my visit is special. Tomorrow is France’s National Day. I congratulate the people of France. I thank the people of France for inviting me. Today French PM received me at the airport and tomorrow I will attend the National Day parade with my friend Emmanuel Macron. This is a reflection of the unbreakable friendship between India and France.”
